Aperio Beauty’s DNA panel is the first of its kind that relies on sophisticated DNA extraction techniques to identify your specific genomic variations, known as Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms or SNPs (pronounced “Snips”)
A SNP is a commonly found minor variation in a single nucleotide base pair (also known as an “allele”) within a DNA sequence. This variation can be thought of as a “typo,” created when DNA is being copied to create new cells. The change can be minor, have no effect, or at times, it can have a more significant impact, effecting a change in a physical, often visible trait. In these cases, a single DNA base pair change triggers the production of a less functional version of a normal skin protein associated with aging.
We believe that these SNPs are key to unlocking a personalized solution to a variety of premature aging concerns. With a unique “fingerprint” of a customer’s age-related predispositions, Aperio then matches each variation / physical impact thereof, to provide a personalized, anti-aging serum. Our serum ingredients are individually selected to address a physical consequence of any given DNA base pair variation. As much as possible, they address a primary mechanistic target, as well as those targets “upstream” and “downstream” of the primary target.
